Public Works Working Supervisor - $41,600-55,000 (DOE) annually with benefits -   The City of Joseph is seeking a full-time Public Works Working Supervisor.  The Public Works Working Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations of the public works dept., effective time scheduling and assignment of duties, setting work standards, perform written evaluations on employees and responding to the ever changing needs of the city and community.  This position is also responsible for coordinating with the budget officer in preparing the budget, procedures for emergency call-outs and services to maintain, repair and manage the city’s streets, water system, wastewater system, facilities, city parks and open spaces.  The Public Works Working Supervisor reports directly to the City Council and will make monthly reports to the City Council and will be required to attend special meetings and budget meetings.  The Public Works Working Supervisor will communicate with city staff, other government agencies, city officials and the public.  The listed duties may not include all the tasks which may be expected to perform.  Education & Certifications desirable are water distribution & treatment 1 and wastewater collection and treatment 2.   Job offers for this position are contingent on the individual passing a pre-employment drug screen, criminal history check and driving record check.  Closing date August 16, 2017

Job Opening for - City Administrator/Recorder

City Administrator/Recorder - $33,000-$43,000 annually with benefits -   The City of Joseph is seeking a full-time City Administrator/Recorder.  The City Administrator/Recorder reports to the City Council.  Attends all City Council, budget and special meetings as required.    Performs administrative and professional work in planning and supervising all city financial operations and functions including general accounting, budget preparation and monitoring, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and revenue functions.  Explains ordinances requirements as needed to the general public.  Prepares and administers grants for the city departments.  Prepares draft ordinances for council review.   Reviews all zoning applications for compliance, prepares staff reports, noticing and findings for all applications.  The listed duties may not include all the tasks which an employee may be expected to perform.  This position requires an Associate’s Degree in related field or five years’ experience in an office setting or equivalent experience and education combination.  Job offers for this position are contingent on the individual passing a pre-employment drug screen, criminal history check and driving record check.  Applicant must be able to be bonded.  Closing date August 16, 2017
